So basically, I get told a lot by people that I should respect others' opinions. No. I shouldn't. Obviously, there are differing viewpoints that I don't care about and don't have a problem with people holding. For example, I'm a vegetarian. I don't care if you're not. It doesn't matter to me so long as you don't attack my point of view. I don't call that respect, I call that apathy. It's not a big deal so it doesn't matter if your opinion is different.However, there are certain situations in which I do care if you disagree with me and quite frankly, you're not a nice person for disagreeing. Racism is an example. Not only will I not respect your opinion if you think blacks are less than human, as a black woman, I will probably help tear it to shreds. I don't care what anyone says; racism, homophobia, sexism are NOT worth respect, and I can't be apathetic. Those are not good ideals to hold on to.
Bottom line: You don't have to be respectful of other people's opinions, what you have to be respectful of is other people's RIGHT TO HAVE a different opinion. I don't have to respect or be okay with what you think. I just can't try to silence you. Get it?

I will never respect anyone's opinion that Flurry Heart from My Little Pony or Yoshi from the Super Mario series are the worst characters ever in their respective series.

If it's an opinion about a person who doesn't like something ... well, even if it's something I very strongly support or believe in, I respect that. But if it's an actual hate, prejudice or intolerance toward someone else, I simply cannot agree and will try to correct them. But even that has to be done with gentleness or else they're never going to learn.

There are people who actually think opinions (including the ones you've mentioned) can't be wrong simply because that's how a person feels. They seem utterly oblivious to the fact that some opinions are based on ignorance.

I agree with what you say. I will always respect the right to have different points of view, and I will respect opinions as long as they are not unjust and sick ones, however I will respect that they have a right to an opinion.

Some People will take this the Wrong Way. I Know What you mean, but Some People are Going to Use it as an Excuse, for Example, Insult People who don't like Star Wars for Example.

It's true. For instance when I see people bash Marvel or The Avengers for stupid reasons by saying it's childish and it's they're opinion are twatty pricks and they can't even back up their own opinions (mostly on YouTube)

I usually think of the Nickelodeon haters and their criticisms of shows like Sanjay and Craig and Breadwinners also apply to a lot of the older shows.

You're not alone there mate, I do get annoyed by them and for instance a lot of people heard and seen the live-action Transformers movies (2007 - present) hate it and they rather watch the 80s cartoons (do you think that's nostalgia-fags?)

Well, considering the original cartoon was made just to sell toys. Not to mention there are MANY different Transformers cartoons throughout the ages like Transformers Beast Wars, Animated, and Prime.

i can't say i disagree...i mean, i'm always boasting about how ppl are free to have different opinions, since i've went through a lot of emotional trauma with others trying to change my ones and butting into my head...but...just because i know you have the right to think what you want and express these thoughts, doesn't mean i'll always agree with u and that u'll earn my respect because of your opinion...it depends on the point of view...i hate arguing when it comes to this, so u'll see me in a fight because of that close to NEVER...but...sometimes opinions are based on a wrong impression and then u gotta tell the person the actual thing and have him/her re-think his/her opinion...not try to change it, just to check if it has any solid base or said person is doing it just to piss a certain someone off and is not actually thinking this....otherwise, i''m cool with the fact that everyone have spirit-freedom...anyway, thnx for making this, it means ur brave enough to express ur own opinion and i'm glad such ppl exist ^3^
