Tada!My first official finished piece on DA!
This is mewtwo in the machine thing from the first movie (which is the best movie ever)
I made a sketch of it in pencil, scanned it and then digitalized it using gimp
No tablet sadly TT TT
I decided to cell shade it because I thought it would be a nice change of pace from the other two things I am working on now. This picture was just something quick I did so I could get something on DA.
And I wanted to draw mewtwo.
Got a problem with that?
I had to go through a buncha crap to make the image (in .xcf format) compatible with DA (don't ask...) so the quality of it might not be what it once was
wooooohooooooooo

This is really well done, I love it! Though.. maybe if you made his eyes glow a fierce blue underneath his helmet, that would've given the picture a more eerie feeling. Just a thought
And I agree, the first movie IS the best one ever. All the others that followed couldn't compare to it at all!
Especially when they added more... and more... and MORE PokΓ©mon! Those times where you could remember all their names easily are long gone. I gave up on that AGES ago.
Once again, I really like this picture and thank you for drawing it This needs a place in my favorites!

Excellent work on this, I like the details that went into this. I also share the inconvenience of lacking a tablet to use, you have my sympathy. A first deviation, congratulations, and welcome to deviantart.

ooooh very nice! Mewtwo is amazing, he was my favorite pokemon forever... ahhh.. those were the days.
Lol, anyway very nicely done, especially for your first piece. I have a tablet and that's still a better coloring job that what I could do, lol.
*claps* XD

haaarharhar.
did i forget to teach you how to save in a good format?
in case you havent figured it out yet, just go to save as and rename the .xcf to a .png
it'll preserve the image in a lossless compression format image which dA can accept.
just in case you didn't figure it out yet, but i'm sure u did.

I agree, this is very well done for a first piece! Mewtwo can be very difficult to draw, and like you I don't have a tablet either, so I scan and ink my pictures as well.
I'm loving this!

If that's your first piece on dA it's very impressive. Most people I know have enough trouble drawing Mewtwo, let alone at an angle and in his signature armor. If you can get them to color it half decent, shade and actually have authenticity, then consider one's self lucky. You did a really good job, especially considering what limitations you have. A tablet can be rather overrated, it just makes everything a whole lot faster, not necessarily better. That depends on your skills.
Unfortunately the file choices on dA are limited, and likely always will be. Hopefully the conversion process doesn't make you cringe too much. Most of the Photoshoppers and Corel Painters have to do 2-3 conversions for their work.
Anyway, welcome to deviantArt. Hope to see more work from you in the future.
