I decided to write this Critique because I read another person's comment that the picture should have been tighter on the girl's face. Although I understand the other poster's perspective, I think you have to consider what you lose when you do that. You had to have the bench and the suitcase and the outside scene to emphasize that this is a departure. I think you have captured this as good as anyone could possibly capture the scene. It makes (this) viewer want to know the whole story. Was he an alcoholic? Was she (mother) having an affair? Was he? When they say a picture is worth a thousand words I think they had this image in mind. Great job.

Good capture of a tough topic... the only thing that would have improved it would being a little tighter on the girl's face to see the torment, pleading and indecision
