How did you do your studies? Did you use photo references? I'd like to do more practice but I'm a little unsure about how to go about it.

For the hand and foot studies I've posted I did use photo references. But there are times where I will draw from life or even from other artists drawings. Studies are just studies that are really just for you, so you could really get the references from anywhere. If you want to start doing studies I'd recommend just taking something you want to understand better (in this case I chose the hands), and analyze how they work and what they are used for. I think studies are more than just copying a reference, it's more about understanding what is being studied and what their function and limitations are and also breaking them down into simple shapes and forms.
