I'm practicing colour and light these days trying my best to understand both concepts. It's quite a lot more difficult than I imagined it would be!This painting is based on the following reference I found while fiddling around in pinterest: projectmeritbadge.tumblr.com/p⦠. My intention wasn't to make it look exactly like the photo, but moreso just to understand what was going on with the lighting and colour (for the mostpart) whilst adding my own sort of flare to it.

Well, I completely mangled the face of the original lady that I based this painting off of. She looks nothing like the original photo (you can find the ref I used in the description for this piece).
