Description

Well, look who it is .
For some reason, I was really drawn to this couple, so I figured maybe I’d expand on their story a little bit. If y’all like it, I’ll do more.
“Oh, what fresh hell is it this time…” Grant moaned, staring down the train platform.
“Some kind of switch problem or something, I hear,” a soft voice approached from behind.
“Feh, it’s always somethin’ with this damn train I swear t–woah, hey big guy,” Grant turned, his scowl quickly morphing to a grin upon seeing the familiar face.
“Heh, hello again,” Finn smiled back, catching his breath from his walk to the station. “Been waiting long?”
“Nah, just got here. But it looks like we’re in for a long one.”
“Yeah…”
The two stared down the platform to the dark subway tunnel, seeking out any trace of an oncoming train. The constant announcements over the crackling speaker system and growing crowd behind them, however, made their hopes quickly wane.
Grant sighed and turned to his hefty companion. “Seems like we’re fucked, eh big guy?”
Finn shrugged. “It happens, there’ll be one eventually.”
“Tch, and it’ll be packed to the brim,” Grant fidgeted with his bag, looking for his phone. “Plus, I’m not really the waitin’ around type.”
The big guy chuckled and smiled. “I kinda got that impression.”
Grant flashed a sneer in jest while tapping away on the screen for a few moments. “Say, you eaten yet?”
“Eaten?”
“Yeah, y'know, dinner. You must be hungry,” Grant replied, quickly but not-so-subtly eying up the gut straining Finn’s polo shirt.
“Well, I mean yeah, but…”
“How ‘bout we go grab a bite then, let this shit blow over?”
Finn’s eyes widened a bit, staring blanking at Grant, whose gaze was dead locked to his. After a moment, his face deepened to a flush red in an instant. “I, uh… I mean…”
“Would it help if I said 'please?’”
Finn chuckled. “Yeah,” he nodded, breaking out of his momentary shock. “Yeah, I think I’d like that.”
The two smiled, turning away from the platform and into the crowd of grumbling commuters. “Let’s get out of here. I know just the place, big guy.”
