“Whoa. What happened to you?”
“Sorry… meeting ran late… had to rush…”
“Ah jeez Finn, you didn’t have to do that!”
“Well… I know… you don’t like… to wait…” Finn smiled weakly, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
“Aw. Somehow I didn’t mind waitin’ this time, big guy.”
“I’m glad… ‘cause I’m gonna… need a minute…”
“Ah, s-sure! Here…” Grant gestured to a nearby bench and gathered his bag. Finn lumbered over and plopped down with a heavy thud and a sigh.
“Hard work carrying all that around, eh?” Grant sat down next to him, patting his leg.
“Y-yeah…” Finn smiled weakly, reaching into his bag for a book to fan himself with. The two sat for a few quiet moments, watching the rush hour crowd bustle by. All the while, a buzzing noise came from Finn’s pocket several times.
“Uh, I think someone’s trying to call you or somethin’…” Grant finally pointed out.
Finn shook his head, rolling his eyes a bit. “It’s just work. Don’t worry about it.”
“Rough day?”
“Eh… kind of,” he shrugged. “I’m okay, though, now. Leaving work at work.”
Grant smiled. “Aah. Well, I have just the cure for a bad day.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah, but let’s not rush,” Grant slid his hand under Finn’s, holding it tight. “We’ve got all night.”
