This is background story stuff and really pretty irrelevant.
To put it very shortly these two were in an arranged marriage that din't work out very well for the first many years because they are complete opposites.
Living in a country that was occupied by an enemy nation and full of civil wars and chaos didn't really help either.

the idea for this is really quite nice and it has a perfect colour scheme. your art style is very nice also and the border suits really nicely with the picture, there are no overwelming colours in this piece which improves the overall look despite there being so much brown.
