Is growing wings after putting on a halo that painful? It certainly gives me a different view of how that happens if it is true.

Her back is messed up for different reasons. Normally growing wings isn't painful, but I can imagine it can be kind of itchy.
Cutie's wings kind of grow out.. wrong, though. And she just thinks they're gross. But Cutie is technically not an angel, so she's a special case scenario when it comes to many things.
