I’m alive! Apparently I caught a cold last week and after almost 5 days crawling around now I can actually move. XD
This drawing started more like a test and I really wanted to draw Boris Karloff, so here’s the result: the sinister Cabman Gray from the movie The Body Snatcher.
This one was made with Gimp and I used an image from the movie as reference. It took me about 8 hours to finish it. (I think I'm starting to get better with digital painting XD)

Oh I have to agree with that, he was definitely creepy in this movie but I think it was one of his best roles too! ^^

Boris was so sinister but also very entertaining as Gray. (though he reminds me a bit of his character Dr. Scarabus from The Raven for some reason XD)

I love The Raven too, that one and The Comedy of Terrors are some of my absolute favorites! (so many hilarious moments, I never get tired of watching them )

That scene with Mr Black trying to escape the coffin is priceless. "I've never had such an uncooperative customer in my life!"

I consider myself fortunate to have both those films on DVD. They are absolutely hilarious!
Like Vincent Price's reaction when he finds out the the widow of his murder victim emptied the house down to the walls before he could: "Is there no decency left?"
And his constantly trying to slip the poison to old Boris. "Here ya go, old man, time for your medicine!" And what happens with that in the end.

The look of sheer incredulity on Vincent's face at the end when he realized what he just did with the poison was hysterical.
Both movies had such an amazing cast. ^^

Thank you very much! I wanted to draw Boris for so long, tried a few years ago but it didn't look very good but now I gathered the courage to try again and this time I'm really happy with the result.
Next one now on my horror icons is definitely Mr Cushing, I just need to decide if I'm going to use traditional or digital media. XD

Thanks!! I'm glad that you liked the sketchy lines, since the character here is from a horror movie I was curious to see if I could draw in a different style. I had so much fun with this drawing and Boris has a very expressive face so it was great to work with shadows and textures too.
Oh and that 'apparently' was because I still don't know if I caught a cold or if it was just some crazy allergy, but now that you mentioned it, it does sound funny. XD

Ohhhhhh I see what you mean now, haha. XD A lot of people have been hit with really strong allergies this time of year for some reason, it could have been a combination of the two or something haha XD I'm just glad that I don't have allergies.

Thank you so much! I had fun trying to capture the mood of a black and white picture, and Boris had such an amazing face to draw too. I think this was the fastest digital drawing I ever did. (maybe it's because it didn't have any colors. XD)

It does indeed have that feeling. Makes me want to watch some old films. ;w; Yeah, black and white artworks are always the easiest..because it's all one colour (if you consider it as such), just mostly in different shades and tints. c:
