There's something so bittersweet about this bit of artwork that's left me in a bit of a melancholy mood and I don't know why. (partially given me some short story material to work with actually)

Something so inanimate, lifeless strung up by rope around its arms and neck with the sunflowers attempting to add life to something so dead inside. Nothing more to its existence than its purpose to keep the crows away.

The futility of the whole thing just gives off such a bittersweet vibe. It was made for a purpose, but by its own circumstances it literally has no reason for being other than to exist as a way of scaring crows.

XD But anyway, that's enough depressingly morose commentary, time for something positive!

For one thing, your shading is absolutely ON POINT here, like that is near picture perfect realism right there as far as shadows and lighting are concerned and the way it reflects upon its clothes is nothing short of Fantastic attention to detail.

Another thing I love is the textures used for its clothes, the ruggedness of the sack, the frayed denim and the flannel shirt all look fantastic, adding in a bit of realism whilst blending it in well together with a more cartoonish artstyle as seen with the Scarecrow's face.

Fantastic work as always Giulia, love the experimentation done on this one, because it really paid off, even if I might've been reading too much into the scarecrow's backstory for the lack of a better way to put it.
