I gotta say the influence you drew upon from Gretlusky's work has made for some pretty radical mermaid design elements from the fin based look for the ears and webbed fingers while still having a very recognizably human look to her with a few nice touches like the freckles and ever present tattoos of fish, seaweed which add a nice personal flair as we trail down with a nice transition into the scales and serpentine half of her body down to the tail.

Even the vibe of the artwork is pretty wholesome and relaxing with Squidge looking like he wants to cheer her up from that melancholy mood. X3 I dunno, its a nice little dynamic that I've always liked about underwater settings with how its so cool and mysterious but also very inviting.
