Description
This is my entry for Sabin's contest on Gaiaonline.I'm right now finishing my second entry for Sam, but as this one was done since few days, and that I'm now sure that I won't change anything else, I post it ^ ^
This is Sabin and Samantha, as the two characters were from the victorian area I decided to "invite" them in my Changeling Court, the Opera Garnier in Paris. (wich was probably very young at this time, as the palace was inaugurated in 1875 )
But as it's for a contest, I tried to stay accurate, and I kept myself from adding fairies, glowings lights and ivy everywhere ...
The background... Let talk a bit about this, took me around 8 hours of drawing and painting with my tablet over a photo that was taken by
For the very first time, I totally deleted the photo at the end of the pic. (Most of the time I keep it with a bit of opacity because my drawing sucks without... But this time no, the photo is not here, just my own background)
I'm quite proud about this point ^ ^
About the character themselve I wanted a more "polished" effect than what I usually do, so I took a lot of time on the skins... 'Even if finally it doesn't show that much...
I tried to erase a bit some part of the original sketch, and I'm quite surprised about how it looks, even if I must confess that I prefer to keep the sketch at the end...
It's just that this particular pic looked better without ^ ^
So here it is....
A long long pic, quite an expreiment in fact.
But that's what contest are fun for ^___^

In the description of the female caracters Sarah was part of the references.
Not Jareth for the male, but I guess that the smile helps to think about him ^ ^

Alors que je feuillette (enfin) ta gallery, avouons sans ambages : une jolie brunette au regard un peu moqueur en belle robe blanche de bal, un fay au cheveux pale mode suave et mysterieux... étrangément, ca touche qqch chez moi!
Avec ça, couleurs riches et chatoyantes, super décor (j'aurais jamais la patience), et une grande envie de suivre ces deux-là un bal...

la brunette-leurre a donc fonctionné, mais je l'avoue ce n'était pas innocent...
dans la description du personnage figurait cette chère Jennifer Connely dans sa robe de bal, ainsi que Belle (de Disney), j'ai essayé de faire un mix entre les deux, mais il est possible que l'une des deux ait pris ses aises ayant déjà une déloyale et confortable longueur d'avance dans mon crayon et inspiration ^ ^
En tout cas, merci infiniment pour ce chaleureux commentaire.

This is so gorgeous! All the little ornate details, and the golden color, with little jewel-like flecks of bright green and blue. It's soooooo pretty!

l'ambiance de ton dessin me rappelle Ambremer, j'aime beaucoup beaucoup.

L'Opéra Garnier est vraiment un bâtiment qui m'est très très cher, c'était assez fastidieux mais très valorisant de tenter la reproduction de ces murs... Je suis contente du résultat...
J'espère maintenant que mes efforts séduiront aussi les organisateurs du concours

J'oublie pas le travail que je te dois ne t'inquiète pas. Je rencontre juste quelques difficultés sur la pose de la deuxième femme... (c'est pas facile dessiner quelqu'un en train de courir de face sans qu'il ait l'air un peu niais ou alors ultra rapide façon Naruto qui charge XD)
Mais je continue de chercher ^ ^ Sois sans craintes.

elle peut marcher si tu préfères. il faut qu'elle ait les bras ouverts et le visage on ne peut plus avenant. mais si elle reste droite comme un piquet en ouvrant les bras ce ne sera pas joli. beaucoup trop statique.

faut surtout pas rester bloquée.
si tu ne t'amuses pas à dessiner ce n'est pas bien.
même si ce ne sont pas tes personnages il faut que ça te fasse plaisir sinon le rendu sera décevant.
alors n'hésite pas à me dire tout ce qui te passe par la tête.
je suis patiente, mais aussi compréhensive. et je sais m'adapter ^^

Ben je me suis pas prise la tête pour la robe de la fille, j'ai fait une recherche google sur les vêtements de l'é
L'organisatrice a l'air d'être assez au courant du contexte historique, donc j'avais pas grand de grandes marges fantaisistes...
Mais ses persos sont super sympa, surtout Sabin, j'l'ai aimé tout de suite, vu qu'il me rappelle un des miens

The skin effect was the first part to catch my eye, followed by their eyes and the sharp-dressed quality of the pair. X) Great job though- good luck!
