Description
I took a macro image without using a macro lens or extension tubes. Plus this image was taken 2.5 inches away from the subject and my lens should only be able to focus 1.5 feet or further away from it. Have I gotten your interest yet?(No post processing done)

I'm partial to droplet shots. I've a few in my Leaf gallery.

It would be more easy if you use your lense inversely... Try it!!!

That may be true, but I don't have a lens reversal ring handy and I really don't want to hold it in front of my camera with the sensor exposed like that would require.

Pretty cool idea. I had read that attaching an inverted a regular lense (like my 55mm) over the top of my long lense would produce ultra close macros in the range of 1:4 up to 1:6. Have'nt tried it yet but it's on my to do list.

Nice. Looks like it would wobble like jello when you poke it.

I did the following:
-brought out old 52mm filter
-took out hammer and broke all the filter glass out
-took out old binoculars and removed front optics from each barrel
-used electrical tape to hold the two lens elements together and put them in securely to the filter base
-put the diy macro filter on my 50mm prime lens and ta da, I now have a macro lens that didn't cost me a cent
