Because Magic Sprites are born from magical events, they can't become parents in the way most animals do. They don't even have cells and body parts like animals do: They are purely an amalgamation of magic bound to a central object. There is one way a magic sprite can make a child, however...

If a single or pair of Magic Sprites decide to try and create a child, it is a long, difficult and usually unsuccessful process. They are well aware of this but of course, the urge will always be there for some. A pair of sprite must have the same magic type (subspecies) to make a child.

The Magic Sprite/s first must charge an object with a lot of magic. A pair will take turns charging the object over months, sometimes years. Placing charge into the object is always difficult, because they weave it through the object carefully so enough magic will stay in the object. It also must be charged up regularly to prevent too much of the magic bleeding off the object itself. This is the most difficult and longest phase of becoming a Magic Sprite parent.

After the object is charged, the sprite must find a suitable location. This location must be a place where a magical event of the same magic type is taking place. The stronger this event is, the better. Then the object and event must collide. And if the parents have done everything right, and are lucky enough, the collision of the two magics will react and cause a baby sprite to be born!

Some parents do this and then leave the child to survive on their own, like they themselves most likely did. A lot of Magic Sprites believe this is the normal progression and should not be upset. Yet other sprites will take in their new child and attempt to raise them as their own.
