I think this is pretty neat. I like the contrasts here, and what adding the color added to the pic as a whole.
The character has a quiet, somber look on her face. I like the simple shapes of her hair -- usually in your art, the hair is pretty wild and energetic, but here it's just a few simple shapes (and a fun swoop on the one side that falls lower than the rest of the hair) and it helps to keep things calmer, quieter. It creates a different atmosphere. Then her expression is just a few small, subtle marks that make her seems even quieter and more subdued. I like her eye -- the shape you used to draw the closed eye looks really good, and the splash of color around her eye draws your attention to it and to the expression. And the flower in her hair is the other splace of red -- just enough to bring some energy and life to the flower, to add a bit more drama, but without affecting her mood and expression.
And then there's the big golden fram. Which I think adds a lot to this -- she's so quiet and calm and somber, but that yellow frame is very alive and bright -- it's a really interesting contrast! It makes her stand out and shine even more, because the colors are a bit of surprised given the atmosphere. Also, I like how you just used the yellow background frame to show the contour of her from below her collar, letting the shirt blend into the paper, rather than being confined into the frame. I think it looks pretty cool this way.
Nice pic! It really grabbed my attention. : )

Simple, competent, and so pretty!
You do a bit of work in acrylic, don't you Glacies? How does it compare to other drawing paper and with that .2, no less?

I like how she isn't complicated in design, but very well put together. Argh, I don't have the right vocabulary, but I really like your art and think this piece is lovely.

So simple, but its got nice emotion and mood in it. I love the lack of color to, which also gives off the edge of simplesity to it.
