Description
From How To Train Your DragonSize: 3' x 2'
Speed: a few weeks
Made from llama and alpaca wool, over a wire frame for gentle posing. He's much larger than I originally intended but I love him anyway.

Whoa, is this sculpture really 3 feet by 2 feet? Amazing. Needle-felting seems to take exponentially longer the larger the sculpture is, so my hat is off to you.

They're pretty simple: I needle-felted loads of feathers, stuck long wires through each feather, arranged all the feathers into a 'wing' and stuck that through the bird!

Kinda the same deal with Toothless: felted big flat sections using a brush pad, felted roving onto the wings of his wire skeleton, then felted the two together. Unwieldy when I was making him, but it is pretty sturdy!
