Description
I stumbled across this [link] charming piece of drawing advice (on the eschergirls blog), and in my infinite arrogance, I thought,"I can do better!"
So I did... something, at least. It was fun to try some pre-determined types as an exercise (I tried to follow his written directions as best I could). And I hope they're somewhat okay (the fighter looks like a woman now, doesn't she, Domo? Please?
Critisism is - as always - VERY appreciated.

Awesome, thanks! (though, to be fair, that didn't take much )

(Gotta partially agree here. Your stuff is more differentiated than what you linked to. )

Yeah, that's the big problem with the "original". Those all have the same body shape/ratio going on, with fairly minor differences within that same "ideal shape".
Yours changes that up more, and gets over personality a lot better too.

It's the problem with a lot of artists' women, in my experience. Too few branch out from the "skinny body, big boobs, big hips (optional)" ideal.
I wish I drew well, so I could actually make meaningful contributions there

Agreed on the problem,
And I know the feeling, especially considering I draw even less well than you.

Oddly enough she actually does. Not sure how you did that. The poses and expressions add a lot too.
(Interesting link, that.)

Succes!
Hmm. The body language is very differentiated, which is great. SM and MG seem to be the same body type, but it's difficult to see since they're from very different angles (if I remember correctly, MG has bigger boobs, though?).
BH stands out as the slender one, but even she has very solid thighs (close to waist width). Her arms are pretty thick compared to her general slenderness, too. It's like you aren't completely comfortable drawing smaller women?
That's pretty critical, sorry. I do like the massiveness of MG, and SM's muscles are a nice touch.
Not sure if that's what you were asking?

Mhm, highly interesting... MG is a lot more voluptuous than the toned SM, but i can't quite show her boobs, given the angle. She has enough to do covering up already.
(I've been working on this secret plan to make MG just a little bit curvier with each update, just for ludicrousness.)
Actually, i'm trying to avoid making BH look too thin. Maybe i'm overcompensating there with the arms and legs. More practice is necessary. >_>
Informative! o/
