I thought so too! My mom suggested that they did something animated instead of a movie, and I wrote about it on a forum, and got flamed something terrible!
(I don't agree with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart playing Fang and Max, I just don't! They're too old, and isn't Fang supposed to be quite dark skinned?)

They played the main characters in the Twilight series.
Maybe that makes me biased (don't care for Twilight) but I think they're too old, and not right for the parts. Look em up, you might see what I mean
Faxness is SOOOO freakin' adorable.
I also liked the original that he wrote, "When the Wind blows" the characters were like forgoings of the MR kids, so Max and Ozzy were also extremely cute!

There was another storyline, in the two books "where the wind blows" and "the lake house"
Patterson wrote these first, and it was a story of a woman who discovered a child who was part bird, and it turned into a fight with The School to break out the other bird children. They had Max, (obviously our Max was based off her) Ozymandias/Ozzy- a forerunner of Fang, Icarus, (blind like our Iggy) Matthew, and the twins Peter and Wendy, who weren't as obvious, so I'm not sure if Nudge, Gazzy and Angel evolved from them or not.
Basically this story was for adults, and then he wrote Maximum Ride, which was intended for Teenagers. The original novel was obviously a lot darker, but VERY believable, and a lot more romance.
I found them a little while after MR. The books aren't related; he just took the name Max to use again. But I reccomend them; they're amazing and I did cry (kinda like at the end of Fang: so sad)
