I think it is gone. I wondered what you was standing on.

What a view. I really need to try this location out some time. I have only gotten shots off the bridge.

I think the farm bridge I used to take this picture is now gone, but I'm not sure.

I wonder what it would take to get a train on that trestle and one banking on the curve at the same time?
Nice one.

Well... It would be impossible. The Western Maryland tracks over the viaduct were ripped up in the 80's (I believe). The good new is the bridge is now a bike trail and provides great views of the line below.

Great picture,
love how you captured the curve of the track.

Replace the engine with a Ludmilla, and it could totally pass for Germany...especially with the windmills in the background!

The bridge and tie spacing don't match perfectly either, although there are a few trestles in Germany. But other than that, you're right, there are lots of regions where this could be in Germany.

Yeah, come to think of it, I haven't seen any German railroad bridges like that... Oh well...at least it sparked a little discussion. (^_^)

The Wutachtalbahn (also known as SauschwΓ€nzlebahn) in south Baden WΓΌrttemberg has a few like that, if I recall correctly.

Hmmm, perhaps I'll go visit sometime. I'd have to rent a car though, since the view from the bridge isn't too useful...
