I'm so deadHoly crap this took so long to do
This is something for a club at school. (we're presenting stuff) I guess this is also a contest entry for a fantasy contest . For this work, I thought of floating lanterns and combined it with jellyfish migration and bam! Badda boom baby, creativity strats are too good. Theres still some things that I need to change, but the deadline for the contest is tomorrow so I'll update this every now and then afterwards.
First things first the lighting looks weird for the people. (again :L) Hey atleast I added highlights to show where they are along with more contrast. The rest is alright and I don't really feel like improving it anywhere else.
I'm pretty proud of this one to be honest. (watch me cringe at this in a month or two XD)

Great concept! I would say your use of depth and perspective is more than decent. Although, maybe it would've been nice if the jellyfish were floating towards the city. Or, if you don't want them to go towards the city, you could've taken a wider view, so we get some kind of idea where the jellyfish are going. (I hope you understand what I mean, I really don't know how to explain my thoughts properly

Yeah I understand what you mean, the jellyfish kinda feel flat and you don't really know where they are in the image perspective wise (foreground, middleground, background, etc) I could probably make the jellyfish smaller as they go into the distance since it creates the illusion of depth and perspective.

Yeah I wanted to make the jellyfish pop out and become the focal point of the artwork, normally it works really well if you use complimentary colours to do so.

Such beautiful colors and interesting concept! This piece grabs your attention even from the thumbnail. Really nice job playing with saturation for focus and contrast. I like the texture/lighting on the boulder, too, and I think the lighting on the people is fine - it's enough to show viewers that they're there, but isn't strong enough to detract attention from the flying jellyfish. Really cool work!!

I'm not sure what your problem with the lighting is. To me it looks just fine. I especially like the few lighting strokes on the two silhouettes watching the jellyfish migration. This gives the feeling that the jellyfish are very bright specimen.
The jellyfishs themselves give the impression of being transparent and illuminated, which is perfect. So I would say your use of lighting is correct.
The concept of the painting is fascinating. I'd love to watch such a migration.

It's so dreamlike, very beautiful! I don't know about you but I very much love the lighting, it's so soft and warm, especially for the jellyfish.

Dude this artwork is amazing! The contrast and colors are simply amazing! Gosh i have no idea why but this artwork is reminding me a lot of the time I went to my graduation high school trip to new york. Just idea it was a warming memory with friends and stuff and this artwork feels warm and nice. Seriously well done.
