Description
This was done in a rush to be first off the starting block in drawing the new Robot Masters from Mega Man 10. Of course, I think I jumped the gun when I only had partial reference images, which is why Pump Man's arms appear so short. Anyway, funny scenes like this are inspired by Napo's long history of Mega Man fan art. If you haven't seen his work yet, check out his gallery right now! He's arguably the most prolific MM fan artist out there. Ariga, eat yer heart out!I'll see if I can upload a tutorial for coloured line art using this image tomorrow....

There are plenty of games to choose from. For newcomers, I would say Mega Man 3 is a good place to start. Lots of content and fairly easy-going for rookie players. Mega Man X is another popular title from the 16-bit era. Personally, my favourite game is Mega Man ZX Advent, but that's pretty advanced and you should play one of the MMX games first.

Well, my first Mega Man game was World 5 on the Game Boy.

And let me tell you, those Stardroids are underrated classics! One of them has plans to enslave all robits and create a robor dictstorship!

I think Iβll go for the MegaMan Original Series, then the MegaMan X Series. Follow the timeline up to X8. The later ones look a little out of balance or a bit, um... odd. No offence to your favourite out of the lot.
Problem is, Iβve tried to get the Switch versions of the Legacy Collections, But Amazon doesnβt deliver to UK Islands, and given that I live on the Isle of Man.

The later games like X5 and X6 are definitely out of balance. It's possible to complete X5 without fighting all the Mavericks, and the level design of X6 is just.... all over the place. I never played X7, but I heard it's pretty bad. However, Capcom got their shit together for X8 and refined the gameplay. There's a neat tag system in place and they've balanced the performance for X, Zero and Axl. Each one has a strength and weakness. The voice acting is much improved and you can also play as the navigators. It's one of my favourite games in the series.

And with X5, there are about three endings and two gameplays. With X, beat the Mavericks and you fight against Good Zero, and donβt best the Mavericks then you fight against Maverick Zero? Is that how it goes?
Then with Zero, itβs just playing him without going maverick.
X6, start off as X. Can play through the game and not find Zero, leading to a βbad endingβ. Find Zero and finish as Zero, youβre shown a glimpse of Mega Man Zero, (not a fan) but if you find Zero and finish as X, true ending as that goes on to X7.
Well, with X7, I guess part of itβs to do with gameplay, voice actors and possibly the graphics. This was in the early stages of CGI, remember.
Dβyou think thereβll ever be an X9?

People have been clamoring for MMX9 for over a decade now. If Capcom can make MM11 after all these years, anything is possible.

I see.
What I'd hope Capcom would do is give us a MegaMan story which explains the gap between Megaman and Megaman X because that's been racking the brain for a while. We all know X was created by Doctor Light and sealed away for 100 years. During that time, Dr. Light passed away as did Dr. Wily after he sealed Zero away. So that raises the questions. What happened to Rock, Roll, Blues, Bass, the Robot Masters and everything else from the MM Series, like the cities?
If they do make a MegaMan X9, I've reason to believe they'd try to make it like a prequel to MegaMan Zero to try and stop the confusion from X5 & X6.

Napo shut down his oekaki gallery last year, but he has a new one on Pixiv. I've updated the link in the description.
