Comic commission for of Princess Sally submerging within the Source of All once more. Thought to be lost when Mobotropolis was destroyed in a nuclear strike (STH #110), it seems the Source has returned to guide Princess Sally on her path to ascension. Will she take the mantle of queen and fulfil her destiny? The choice is hers...
Maybe I should have drawn Sally with her vest. You know, for censorship reasons...

This page feels so Magic, I imagine than thatβs the point. And its so beautiful, it feelsΒ ethereal andΒ timeless. Even the presence express itself as a chao feel important and... well cute.
the first panel show us Sally literally falling deeply in magic, in a place where there arenβt up or down and where the rules are different and power itβs in a state pure.
The ilumiation is amazing (Iβm sure you know that) I like than you use it to give the reader the sensation about something than we cannot explain.
I enjoy Sallys hair movement (specially in panel 3) following the theme than she is in βwaterβ and the idea than she must flow.
I just have one problem. Now I WANT TO HUG THAT CHAOS!

You know, we really should have this be a start of a new storyline set in the IDW Sonic world, where all of the characters lost from the Archie series find themselves in a ruin of an ancient kingdom which they claim as their own, and where Sally rebuilds a kingdom in her own image.

I never really completely understood the thing with the Source...Like...why is it even necessary?Β Β She's bound to be queen anyway, IMO,Β what is the point of submerging in this mystical pool?Β But, then again, maybe it's just been too long since I've read the that story.

Sally isn't destined to be queen. Only one of Max's children can wear the crown, and Elias would normally succeed the throne as firstborn. But at the time he was having doubts if he wanted to be king, so Sally bonded with the Source to decide if she is worthy.

or an acorn?Β I dont know.Β But the whole nudity thing is hypocritical to me.Β If a character has fur, theyre technically covered.Β The only that way Sally would be truly naked is if she shaved off her fur.Β But even if this was a human woman, the nudity aspect represents beauty and grace.Β It shows someone with great power and authority in their most vulnerable. reminds me of Sonic super special # 11 where she does join the source ( later reprints of the story was poorly edited for no reason )Β yours her is a superior retake on thatΒ heck you should of done that story ^^ your art i dare say may even surpass the great "Β Spaz and Harvo "who did A whole lot of the covers , spectacularly illustrated !

Maybe I phrased that wrong. I assumed he corrupted the Source when he took the artifacts, its last physical remnants.
Also, I believe issue 185 showed the empty Source pool with an M-shaped crack at the bottom, implying that he had some sort of control over it.Β

Impressive! I never noticed that detail until now. The point is never stressed, but it's possible that Mogul came in contact with the Source at some point in the past. It's debatable when that happened, since he was trapped in the Master Emerald from Sonic #56 to #79. The Source has remained within Castle Acorn, but it's possible that Mogul corrupted it long before Max took the crown. I feel like there's a lot of untold backstory here.

You know, this could be the way Sally is restored to her real self in your story. It has potential since the Source of All never was fully understood, so the ambiguity can give it any number of powers. That's the main reason why Liyu chose to use the Sword of Light/Acorns to put Sally back to normal in her version. Magical foozles are so much fun!
That chao is getting a little too familiar with Sally in panels 3 and 4. You did that on purpose, didn't you?

It may be possible to deroboticize someone with the sword since magical power is susceptible to writer's interpretation, which is why I didn't contest it in Liyu's animation. But it's worth remembering that Sally was only able to restore the Robian's free will with the original sword in Sonic #100, so deroboticizing is a bit of a stretch.
As for panel 3, I was only following the script, your Honor! Still, it was an easy panel to draw. I just had to visualize myself as the Chao.

What strikes me is that though the Sword was crafted from the Source of All, it doesn't seem possible for it to contain every facet of the powers the pool itself might have had. Bearing that in mind, the free will factor of the Sword could naturally extend even farther if Sally's roboticized body was immersed in the pool's raw form. I'd say there's a definite chance of something happening.
