So here begins my run-up to the Mega Man Tribute. Fans are no doubt aware of the furor UDON's contest created a few months ago, and it's exactly what I needed to redeem myself after my failed MVC3 poster . I was disappointed at having missed the Street Fighter and Darkstalkers Tributes, but I swore by the power of Grayskull that I would not rest until I saw my lifelong dedication to Mega Man fan art immortalised in UDON's publication.This first entry is a remake of this picture I drew six years ago. It was always one of my favourites, but I was careless enough to lose the PSD file when I formatted my hard drive. I've been meaning to repaint it ever since and the contest was just the opportunity I needed. I prefer the more subtle halftone and sharper colours in this version. Having said that, I consider it to be more of a warm-up and I doubt it stood a serious chance of winning. I had fresh illustration still to paint...
PS. This was drawn before I got into the Legends series, which is why Roll Caskett doesn't show up. Soz.

You were into Command Mission before Legends? That's pretty rare. Since L3's cancellation I've been bitching to Capcom a lot over the general lack of opportunity for western fans to jump into the series, seeings how the U.S. keeps getting denied for PSP/PSN re-releases. In any case, it's a shame Roll missed this pic, but I hope we see more of her from you in the future.

And it's both surprising and nice those two included in the set. Most folks forget about the lesser-addressed characters in the MMZ series. Carlin knows I did. "course, not every character can get Alouette or Andrew's level of character development.
