Description
The first of three commissions for REGIT-NOSMIRC-RANUL .Regit asked me to draw Princess Sally in a T-pose to help design a 3D model. At first I started with a sketch that was pretty close to how she appeared in the SatAM show at 2.5 head heights, but when Regit started referencing Pat Spaz and J. Axer's work from some of the earlier issues, I redrew her with more adult proportions at 3 head heights to reflect their style. For the sake of the project, everything had to be carefully proportioned and symmetrical if it was to animate properly, and Regit is not a fan of the exaggerated limbs in the Sega-fied style popularized by Tracy Yardley. It still pains me to draw Sally these days after reading about her fate in issue #230. That was probably the single most heartbreaking thing I've ever seen in a comic, but I don't want to give too much away if you're not up to date......

I don't quite know where to catch up on the comics any more since I have no place to buy them, though I know what's happened cos my friend keeps me up to date! It was horrible :C
And holy mother of pearl all 3 of your model sheets are amazing, I love the detail you put in and the lovely colouring, and the style and proportions are amazing c:>

I've always wanted to know a place with more recent comics than whatever the mega torrent had archived, I've read all those but that still leaves me a bit hanging as of now haha x'D
My local bookstore just STOPPED selling sonic comics randomly for some months, kind of upset me so i hadnt checked back for a year or so (my only real reason to go there rather than the library lmao). Maybe they have them back so i can buy them again when im caught up O:

Also, honestly, as for the incident in the #230 of the comic, I wouldn't worry about Sally in the comic currently personally.
Many characters (including Sonic, Knuckles, Lupe, and herself before in an older issue, as well) have been roboticized in the comic before, and returned to normal, so there's still a chance for Sonic, and his friends to save her somehow, or for her to be returned to normal. I think it's an interesting twist in the comic personally, and I'm curious where they're going with it.

Sally's fate was tragic in more ways than one. If she had died in her sacrifice, at least she would have spared herself the horror of becoming a mindless slave for Eggman and fighting her friends. No one willingly accepts that; it's like Captain Picard agreeing to become Borg. And then there's the effect it had on her friends. Bunnie, Tails, Amadeus and Amy were all in tears. Nicole was profoundly affected by the everything that's happened. She's already under a lot of stress from the populace rallying against her, now she turned the Roboticizer against her best friend and abandoned her in the process. With Bunnie gone and Antoine near death, she lacks the emotional growth to handle such losses. She may eventually become hellbent on rescuing Sally, because she painfully understands what it's like to become a tool of evil.

Yeah, I remember Nicole said something on her screen like, "I lost my only friend." (Which was a bit of an emotional moment.) I'm very curious how this is all going to go. There's alot going on in the comic right now, and I'm enjoying it.
Although, Antoine might not die, he's just in a coma. So I wouldn't say he's "near death," but he's also not quite "out of the woods" yet either.

If Flynn wanted to kill Antoine, his death would have been more immediate. I doubt that croaking at the hospital would have the same effect, so I'm sure he'll pull through with or without lasting effects. But what about Bunnie? When she was deroboticized, I anticipated that she would be ineffective in battle and that she'd get into arguments with Antoine who was being overprotective. Eventually she leaves in anger to persuade Lien-Da to legionize her. Okay, so I was right about her leaving, but I was wrong about the motive. Do you still think she's going to be legionized?

I'm not sure, she might be planning on that, or on freeing her Uncle (who is pretty much her parent/guardian from when she was younger) from being forced to work for Eggman as Legionair, or something. I'm sure we'll find out where Bunnie went eventually. She might be planning something else.
