Finally, a new pic! I've been meaning to draw this for months, but couldn't find the time.This is a follow-up to my previous Sonic Origins pic , depicting Bunnie's rehabilitation after her life-changing operation. She's lucky to have friends like Antoine to teach her to walk again. Since a few people have complained about the tone of the previous pic, I wanted to make something more wholesome this time. I had a lot of fun painting this, and I hope Archie has got something interesting planned for Nicole's Origins story so I can draw more fan art.

The reversal of emotions against the 'before' picture make for a palpable relief as we see Bunnie did indeed make it through major surgery without complications. Sonic's corny kissy-face in the background and the eye-rolling "yeah RIGHT!" reaction to it also provide a much-needed funny moment to a serious scene. Even better is her young friend willing to come to the hospital, see a friend who's just had surgery, and stay around to help her out.
The grandparents watching by the bed have every reason to be proud of Antoine. Hospitals are scary places for many and especially for children. Going there and staying there when you don't absolutely have to takes no small amount of courage, to say nothing of the patience and empathy to help his friend through a painfully difficult task. He is more mature than some Mobians his age - a neat character contrast with the three right behind him - and I have to imagine they are hoping that he'll be waiting for her at the end of a very different aisle in a few years.

This is a nice upturn from the prequel pic.
The lighting is fantastic, the shading is top-notch and the perspective gives a nice sense of depth in the room, giving the picture more dimension.
I like how you can actually feel the scene play out as if it were a true frame from professional animation, especially Antoine and Bunnie.
If I had to criticize anything, it's Rotor. If you ask he his expression just feels inappropriate and out-of-place compared to everyone else.
I can totally believe that Sonic and Sally's visage would be based off of one of the latter's cocky jokes about Ant and Bunnie being all kissy-kissy and Sally scoffing at his lack of tact, but Rotor?
His expression and seeming enthusiasm just feels... out of place. (And is that drool on the window?)
Otherwise, this is a solid piece of work that really fleshes out the impacts created by the alternate universe. Great job!

I suppose he'd look intrigued, just... y'know, not drooling all over the window pane like some sort of fanboy?
Maybe for of an awed expression instead of like he were making googly eyes or stooping to Sonic's level of immaturity? Cuz I always mentally portrayed Rotor to be more mature than Sonic even in their youth. Maybe not by leaps and bounds, but i think you might know what I mean.
It's still an awesome pic though.

WHY couldn't Archie's writers have done justice to a story like this? Bunnie undergoing PT (which means either "Physical Therapy" or "Pain and Torture," it depends). But the Bunnie-Antoine expressions are so sweet everything else pales.

What a lovely, heartfelt, inspiring scene. Only right that Sonic is making kissing jokes and ruining the mood
Amazing artwork, the shading is especially on point as are everyone's expressions. Bunnies straining/sad smile face is perfect. (Not sure about Uncle Chuck's eyebrows but I can't think of any other way they'd work)
While I'd say just draw what you like I do like the warmer feel of this one to the last, Bunnies friends here to help her, Rosie and Chuck watching with similes, Bunnies determination, all amazing.
With regards to YamiNetto's critique I think Rotor might be doing that to try and get Bunnie to smile, make a friend laugh after they had a hard time. In that context it isn't out of place.
Also, a giant Chao plush? I see Sally has been abusing the royal treasury again

I honestly don't see what is wrong with things such as this. Sure, the comics are mainly targeted at kids but let us not forget the comics also take after Satam, which was quite a dark series. Sigh... I miss evil Robotnik.Β

Oh lord, and this has been the main problem with Sonic now, made more "wholesome" due to complaints, when even kids media were taken more seriously.
