ratamon - from Norse mythological Ratatoskr, lit. 'drill-tooth', the squirrel that runs up and down yggdrasil, delivering insulting messages between the eagle in its branches and the dragon in its roots.
nithmon - from Norse mythological Nithogg, the dragon that chews on the roots of yggdrasil. nith refers to a dishonorable, villainous social stigma.

figured he's important enough that I should put up a to-scale version of his art to match all the partners. i'm not being coy; there's not a story reason for this, i've had this for ages (since i finished Nithmon's profile art), and just now realized i should upload it, lol
man, remember when people liked ratamon and asked if he was gonna be re:CON's mascot? ha ha. i do. ahhhh.
the fun part is there's still more stuff to reveal about him, so that'll be really fun!

For one I'm surprised that ratamon and his line don't have the digital hazard symbol on them they may be tricksters but lucemon has the digital hazard symbol even in his rookie form and guilemon has it without being evil
And remember that re:wind joke you made a while back? Well that actually could be a world for the plush lion and cat burgler digimon you made but rewind as in rewinding to times in the digital world that have been tampered with by something else from the future and the digivices could be called D-chronoses
Just came up with that from the fact that you used classical characters for inspiration for two digimon so far and you made a joke with that re:wind stuff

Since I read your chapters all the way from the beginning till sooner I'll finish reading the whole thing, and I saw this...for some reason I thought at first that Ratamon is a holy mode Digimon and since now I read the comments I was pretty much surprised that The Rat was malicious and will be put as a virus Digimon for this chapter...tell me if I'm wrong. I know he's malicious for all you know.

Thing about Ratamon is this is just one, for all we know others that might exist could just be jerks or like gerlermon jerks with a heart of gold (though I guess if there is more that do, used to or might exist in the future depends on glitchgoat I'm speculating because usually when there is only one of a certain digimon what I've seen shows them without baby to rookie stages though I've only seen the digimon movie and digimon data squad)

His mega will never actually appear in re:CON, but you're not wrong that it does take a fair bit of influence from the eagle! (Because of course I've designed something that's never actually going to appear in the story.) >>'

Honestly he weirded me out from the beginning, I have a feeling he was hiding shit, that being said I Wasn't expecting him to be so malicious. I also wasn't expecting himΒ to get a size chart XD.Β
I have many theories about his backstory, but none are all that coherent.Β

I'm so pleased that his nasty depths turned out to be a surprise. : Dc He's always been one of my favorite characters to write, which obviously means he's bad news for everyone that isnt me.
I'll actually be divulging more about him in the near-ish future, so I can't wait to dash all of your theories' hopes and dreams. :'D

Coincidentally, he's one of my favourite characters in the FDD (aside from the Main cast of course). Childish but still very intimidating is something few people can do with a well with a villian. Usually childish villains come as too comediac to me, but I am happy to say there is almost nothing funny about this bastard, he genuinely feels like bad news when he appears.
