I don't know why you took the old comment off, but this one exudes more emotion. Anyway, I'm almost finished with the painting. Actually, I should have finished days ago but the fear of disappointing myself keeps me from putting it down. By the way, this song reminds me more of this picture than anything else.

Hey Gabby, whould I be out of line if I ask you if I can paint this picture?
P.S.
Reminds me of 'ictures of you' by The Cure. I think that's what I may call it.

It's very touching, but I have a question.
How genuine is your expression?

It was my sister who made me take the photo, actually. I've been feeling really down lately and I was just sitting, looking out the window, thinking. She just said "What's up with that face?"
I somehow capture my moments with my camera.
Hope this all made sense, haha.

Funny... I've been the same way recently. Life goes to hell, and staring into space seems to be the only thing I'm capable of doing anymore.
That's why it impacted me so much... depression seems to bring out the best in art. Bleh, enough rambling! If you'd ever like to discuss life's woes, feel free to message me. :]
Keep up the art!

The expression is genuine, to me. It's full of emotion, and longing. The muted color adds to the feel of the image. Little things like the wings of the necklace being somewhat hidden add a nice touch. It means to imply that the subject cannot "fly" without the one she's looking for. As a metaphor, it's very effective.
The position of the head is fine, but the light reflecting from a set of eyes that look off into the distance, into a place that we cannot see, really makes this picture come alive.
