exactly. I think it comes from movies and TV. Like they feel the need to dramatisize it. Something similar occurs with female cigar smokers, who seem to exagerate things like "Hell yeah im a girl that smokes cigars, suck on it male establishment!"

A friend of mine who I met for a cigar once brought his girlfriend with him, and she did the same thing. I'm not so sexist as to say women can't smoke cigars but it just looks odd when they do.
