Made for the Summer Memories Contest

Some days ago I had this "it's the last day of summer" feeling. There were no clouds in the sky, the sun burned on my skin and it was calm in the city.
I miss how summer used to feel when I was a child. Summer was endless and dream-like.
I miss running through fields and over meadows. I loved discovering new places.
I miss getting up and knowing you can do whatever you want.
I had no worries these days.
I miss the sound of the ice cream van and eating ice-cream without worrying about calories.
Going outside without putting on make up, doing your hair or considering what to wear.
"Do you have time today?" or "Do you come out to play?" were questions you always said yes to and always made you so exited.
And now I'm living far away from home and summer became uncomfortable sometimes because you have to work or have to study while it's so hot.
I love my life now. But sometimes I wish I could spend especially the summertime as a child again.
