This is what I consider the best editorial cartoon I've ever made until this day, at the levels of the gag, the quality of drawing and the political content.

And that's a non-unfashionable gag! Alas!
This theme will always be in the actuality in spite of the efforts of very well-intentioned people...
I am really proud of this drawing! It is very simple in composition, but how much efficient! I would love it to always draw cartoons as better as this one, but i figure it will be really difficult...
I have now changed the way and the techniques of my drawings.
I decided not to use brushes anymore and to use a little thin line for a more detailed drawing.
When you compare my old drawings to this one, what do you think of it?
Did I improve or decrease the quality of my drawing?
Which kind do you prefer? The old ones or the new one?

I agree with Generaliriga. While the overall expression is fine, I think there's something not quite right with the eyes - most of the children in these situations have a haunted look (this might be impossible to capture, though).
By the way, have you heard of freerice.com? It's a vocabulary game, and with every right answer, 20 grains of rice are donated the UN World Food Program rice to help end hunger. Spread the word.

You are asking for advanced critiques, but I can't write anything constructive, critique-wise.
This piece is more for discussion about society than for discussion about art. In fact, I wish it had more views: it would make more people think.

I like the concept, however, the face of the character seems convey cuteness and happiness. This then takes away from the gravity of the actual message. I do like the colouring...

I have some ideas for future cartoons on the Iraq war.
The problem is time!
All the cartoons and other stuff I published in my gallery on Deviant art are made completely for the fun of it, nobody asked me or commissioned me for that artwork...
I have to win money with other drawings, which takes me a lot of time!
Every each cartoon you see here took me a day long for its realization.

Its ok..I do like your drawing style though. Recently I've been very interested in caricatures and political cartoons, since the cartoons that I've seen in the world have dealt more about aesthetics rather that politics. It can be a fun theme to deal with, mais its still cartoon. It only lasts so long until we see summit better.
I just wish that the animators and cartoonists of the world take notice of what is going on around them. I mean 90 people just died instantly in Iraq yesterday...nobody is doing a cartoon special on them...Its a shame.
