So I was thinking of chryssalids the other day. Mostly as one of the fuckers took out half of my squad.Altough the Ufopaedia doesn't mention anything, the things don't really look too organic on the outside.

Well, since everyone went with the Evangelion references, I'll go a slightly different route and say this is what crabs look like on an Evangelion. There, happy? Sleep well wondering why they scratch so hard at their crotch armor.
Back on subject, I like the redesign. Much more sinister but still having this unusually happy look to it. Have to love a design that enjoys wreaking havoc with a smile.

I actually like your design. That thing presents heaps of issues for design when brought outside of xcoms old 2 d gaphics. How not too make the grin too cheesy is one that the 3d designs for it I've seen fail at.

Oh man, I remember those things. Vicious, murderous goits that they were.
Even when I took to abusing mid-mission saving to save my squadmembers, they still delighted in turning entire town populations against me.
And then you had to go and make it look scarier.
