      Ledger was born to a household famously known in their village for their outstanding beauty. This household was very tightly interwoven, relatives both close and distant living together for many generations in a single domicile. Usually if a family member moved out, they didn't move far - only one or two houses down or even into a house filled with other relatives. Their whole neighborhood consisted of this one big family tree, going back centuries and centuries. Every generation of this family bred stunning Kimet with lush plumage and vibrant blues and greens, and they were proud of it. However, their beauty wasn't always through pleasant means. Inbreeding and planned marriages were common, and after many generations more than just the pretty traits began to crop up. Chicks didn't always survive, family members would become chronically ill and affect an entire household with devastating effects, and their mental prowess slowly deteriorated. They grew more quick to aggro, and this is what spelled disaster for Ledger's life.

      Ledger was born with a color mutation, making what would usually be the household's trademark blues to appear a ghastly brown on him, and his plumage was meek and short. When his feathers came in and it was discovered he was "different" he was quickly neglected and ignored by his family because of his unusual colors, and their aforementioned aggression lead to his own unstable mentality to crumble. He had no one to socialize with, and all of it was blamed for this "ugly" colors. Growing older he began to use paints and colored powders to make himself look more beautiful, but it didn't help him fit in. His family only grew more aggressive, linking his manufactured beauty to an abhorrent lack of respect for their own natural beauty. He started using more and more paints and powders, with unstable hands and a clouded mind. It was sloppy, and it made him sick, but he was pretty. Right? Of course he was pretty! Look at the blues! Look at the greens! The coughing and wheezing and runny eyes wasn't so bad. Sure his chest hurt, and it was hard to breath sometimes, but he was pretty! His family didn't understand.

    He was disowned by the family pretty quickly when he walked into the foyer looking so disheveled and frightening. So now he lives on his own, working whatever jobs he can to get by and ultimately moving on from them to try something else. Since he had so little communication when he was young it's hard for him to connect or cooperate with anyone, and it doesn't take Kimet long to realize he's off his rocker. Most of the money he has goes towards trivial things like paints and powders and shinies to make himself look artificially beautiful. Of course, he doesn't realize that his painted looks and chronic coughs and fits often scare others away.

      EDIT: I thought it might help to say what jobs he's juggled about with after leaving his family behind. He attempted working/apprenticing in cobbling, tailoring, maid work, mail delivery, tailoring again, fishing, tailoring AGAIN, and currently food prep. He has a knack for fashion, but it's hard for his employers to keep him because of his sporadic and bizarre tendencies. Bad for business you know. He is in and out of homes a lot because finding and holding down jobs can be hard, meaning sometimes he spends long times homeless.
