this is my first time really animating. I hope i did ok for my first time. no sound though :C

aha that's good
if you want to keep it at the poly it has now, you can use 'smooth'
or soften normals
whichever
it makes it seem smooth and less boxy
but without changing the poly count or modifying the actual model

the teacher wouldn't let us. he wanted to just teach us the very bare bone basics XD

do you smooth models before or after you've create uvs for coloring?

but doing it after doesn't really effect much

i wasn't allowed to. The teacher didn't want us to go too far into detail. this was the first time i've animated something.

i did.... i had one of the best animations in the class actually XD i only had to animate one character and i animated four. i actually did a lot more work than i needed to.

i modeled them from scratch. they're clone troopers, but i drew all the pictures i needed for reference and then put them into maya and built them from a cube. then i painted and textured them, and rigged them and then animated them.

im just starting out with all this stuff. but i love it so much. i really want to be able to go into much more detail, but the class i took was only 6 weeks long. :/ i need to take the class again but maybe for an entire semester next time.

maybe you can give me some more tips?
