So I worked on this solidly for the day thinking for whatever reason that the deadline was tomorrow, and I go to the rules page to submit this and it totally isn't tomorrow. I totally have way more time than I thought I did.Anyway, this is the Colossus of Life.
ABOUT THE DESIGN:
The Colossus features two clock faces (Life can be so Two Faced sometimes), in which it uses to keep itself young. Why clocks? Well, life eventually runs out of time, right? So one spins forward, the other spins backwards.
Why the little legs?
Life has many legs one must move through!
Wow I am full of all kinds of visual puns aren't I?
This may or may not be the only thing I enter into the RIFT contest; I'm not sure. I have about a dozen designs sitting on my hard drive, but I loved the Life one too much not to see to illustration.

I really like this idea! Everyone's Rift ideas are so cool, with such neat explanations.
If I saw this creature in a dream or something, I'd totally freak out. That's so neat. Does it eat anything?

I truly, truly love this! It is every bit of awesome! Obviously I love the clock faces to death and how much thought and symbolism went into them is completely wicked. The creature looks so sturdy, yet elegant and I love, love all its legs. Creatures with lots of legs are an obsession of mine as of late. I really like the design of its back, it reminds me of coral a bit and I love how its tail sort of corkscrews into the distance. The lighting on this creature is really nice as well, giving it even more of a real effect. I think this is definitely my favourite colossus that I have seen entered so far and I actually really want to see it drawn again.

8'D Aww i'm so glad you like it! If it doesn't place in the RIFT contest I will probably use him again for other things, and refine some things. I was originally going to have, on his hip, a little fetus pod and show a little dolphin or horse fetus in it, but I didn't like how much it clashed with his design so I took it off. Hurp hurp!
