i just got one of those swords today. it was stronger than my last one so i kept it, Enchanted it and Improved it

Same here, I got mine improved to superior and enchant it with fire damage.

mines Legendary and has Drain Health Enchantment
there's a seriously easy way to get Smithing to level 100. which is extremely useful, though a bit costly

i finally got my smithing to 100 but I haven't gotten the improve enchanted items perk.

well the only thing i can think of for that is to disenchant anything you pick up that can be disenchanted
pick up as many Soul Gems with souls in them every time you enter a dungeon or buy them from Court Wizards. if a Soul Gem doesn't have a soul, then either drop it or fill it
finally, buy a lot of accessories like rings or accessories, or even clothing and enchant them. then sell them again since you may not really need them
you could also enchant your armour and weapons with anything useful. though if your being a Mage Knight like me, then don't enchant your weapons with magic damage, you already have spells for that
