Description
I know that this is fanart for InuYasha, but for I couldn't find the section anymore. Glitch? But anyway, I had for quite some time had this image in my head. It's from the song "Big Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" by KT Tunstall. Kikyo is one of the most unusual parts of the IY myth. She really couldn't move on, being dead, but if she could, I think that this would be pretty close.
I finally got my scanner working, but I may not be able to CG, because I have been using Infraview for modifing. But I'll keep trying...

I wanted to get the feeling of the song where K.T. Tunsell was saying, "You're not the one for me..." mainly in it. He has the strange expression because I wanted to show that he is sad, but has his pride. Guys do.
And maybe a little anger.
BTW, I have gotten a look at your gallery, and you draw well. I think practice is all we all need. I draw pretty much everyday, I just don't post that heavy.

Well, I have a few techniques to help.
1. I keep a small sketchbook in my pocket, when I get an idea, I sketch pretty fast, not totally working on details until later. You can see from my scraps they cna look pretty yucky.
2. On trips I keep a larger journal sketchbook and try and raw some of what I see around me or ideas that come to mind. I even write on them.
3. Take time a little each day to just doodle, it cna be just swirls on a page.
4. Listen to music, watch videos, and scan magazines and such. I observe a lot and look for refences incase I want to draw something.
5. Use the turtorials and stock art on DA, they want to help.

That's okay, but I find it to be fun , even as I work on it. It just sounded like you weren't having fun due to the fact you weren't good at it, in your words.

Oh, they go out of their way to make it boring.
But oddly enough, i found that I found interesting ways to make drawing more fun.
Like take a sketchpad to a nearby plant nursary...and sketch the plants. Or a nearby park and find anything unusual.
Or copy from magazines and manga.
You don't have to follow the assignments that school gives, they aren't interested in getting people interested in art, they want trivia.

well, here's a thought.
I'm currently trying to do a fanart of Priss asagiri and Vision from the orginal BCG, and then I'm trying also to draw Esmeralds for my husband.
Find characters you are interested in from other styles and experiment.
I also read an Underground Education and learned some interesting things about artist that they don't teach in school,
like, Van Gogh was hyped up on meds due to a pinched ear nerve.
Marcel Duchamp had an alter ego who was a woman and even dressed like one.
Toulouse LaTrec was injured as a child due to a horse accident, so limped a lot. It actually deformed his bones, so he was really short. And he kept a glass and flank in his cane. He also was enamored with the actress Avirl LaVongel, and even wore her coat and hat for picture as a joke.
Jackson Pollock was a drunk.
Pablo Picasso did realism by 16 and got fed up. He unfortunately was caught in the bombing of Granada.
Frieda Kahlo had been injured in a bus accident at 12, and painted on her back a lot. The brace she wore hurt a lot. So she found soltice in the bath tub.
Bet they don't tell you these things while in art class.

Also I realized there was some errors on my part.
Gurnica was the place Picasso was caught in when ti was bombed.
I think I have the actress's name wrong. The Tolouse Latrec. I think it's like the singer, but I will let you know, I can be wrong.
Look these up, they're great reads.
