Description
Well, following in the footprints of my first custom AT-ST inspired walker, the orky boyz just got reinforced by another runnin' gunnin' kickin' trickin' death machine. I tried to make it roughly the same (mostly the same bitz) but still add some variation. I will field them as killa kanz i think, or rebase them or use them as fastrunning biker substitutes.Built with GW mini bitz, painted with GW paints and washes.
Feel free to ask if you have questions or just say hi, as always, i love to chat!

Its essentially a deathcopter pilot cabin, slapped some legs on there made by the rotors and some random scrap bits, then various other random shit i had lying around . I have two of them currently, there is another one in my gallery somewhere. Thanks for the compliment, always means alot from a good artist like you

I think its the heart of orkyness to build random crap with whatever you have and then disregard all physics! Feel free to get back to me with your builds, ill wait in anticipation

I have some custom killa kans that are itching to be photographed, I'm sure you'd love them! Be patient though, I want to truely finish off my Nurgle army before moving on. Should be able to get it done this holiday... but then, you know what happens to self imposed modelling timelines I'm sure!

This green fella is nicely done, no doubt. You did a really good job on the paint - but if a word of critique is allowed, I d say you could have done better on the cleaning: e.g. the horn and the left side of the slightly rotten skeletal head. But thats only after searching for imperfections ...

Critique is always welcome, first of all thank you.
Secondly, i agree, i went so heavy on the wash, i forgot that the horns wouldnt rot as much and should be cleaned up per se. Ill probably fine tune it coming Week c;

What would you put as rules if you were going to use them in play?

I would probably use them as killakans or re-base them and use them as choppas... But if there was a friendly game i could imagine a mix between tank chock and assault xD

ah nice to see u makin more of these i love them, one thing you could add to help hide the slightly awkward knee joints is some wire/cabling so it looks kinda like bodged preasurised joints if you get me.
i also love the feet on this one, but id have gone way over the top and covered the lower legs and feet in choppaz
lastly, really well painted dude, you have ork style down to a fine art

Thanks for your kind words, and in retrospect, i agree, like i said to other posters i think while i like the joints, there should be some external connector (screw or whatever) to make it obvious to the onlooker how its attached ;D

Then you shouldnt butcher them ;D
I guess i didnt define my playstyle enough since i dont play much yet, but i think im going for meks/boyz primarily, some canwall strategy or whatever, overwatch is a bitch but ill deal with it

Kanwall aint working so good anymore sadly, this may sound crazy.. but using them either with grootzooke (depending what you face say nids) or rokkits, it's better to have allot of boyz in front with a big mek Kustom force field in the middle of them, giving cover to them all i tried for fun with 3 kanz.. rokkits totally worth it i got 3 glances at a lemanruss

Oh, I thought you were not gonna make more of those! ^^
I still think they looks awesome, thought the legs are...awnkard. I think they look better as Jaws.
Anyways, the painting is good. I am not sure if I am right, but the legs are a big more dirty and damaged than the rest of the walker, right?

I knwo I am, miss. Thought I still think the legs are awnkard. They have no knee articulation nor actual foot. The idea of using them as legs is not bad, but could be improved a bit.
I think it works a bit better if you use the blades like this [link]
Finally, why would you not leave a comment to Gnatsies himself? I am sure he would like to read your opinion.
Your sincerily.

I know it's a copter blade. It's what the bit was originally intended to be. But it's cooler this way, knee-bendy-things or not!
And I'm sure Gnatsies will read the comment whether I leave it for him directly, or to you. But he already knows I love his work, and that I think he's one of the most imaginative and awesome ork constructors around C:

Hehe shes my girl so we talk on a daily basis. I understand what you mean with the articulation of joints, yet i feel satisfied with the outcome, maybe i should have left the joint locks external so casual onlookers could see them more clearly, but i feel it works regardless xD The foot joints however i am satisfied as they are clearly articulated on the inside (where they are fitted) but i think if i had spare terminator footsies or something it'd be even better.
Again, its nice that you look at my stuff and give critique, so thank you

Yeah i was trying to make it look like they've been worn and torn through terrain and enemy armies for a while. I wanted them to looke like they were very makeshift and random bitz built with anything the orks had, maybe that made them a bit awkward xD

Played today had 3 deffkoptas, in reserves so i got them onto the enemey's side of the table
Took our 3 marines as iv'e allready took down his preds with the dakkajets glance/pened the side armor to death
Anyway, they got the hit and run rule so shoot, 2d6 to move back into cover after shooting

Yeah, I think they do. That is something VERY hard to balance, actually. It has to look like scrap, but in a way that, somehow, it manages to stay in place.
