"That oughta do it!" The tiny inventor beamed, wrapping the final strip of aluminum foil around the circular antenna. Gadget Hackwrench, indispensible and beloved engineer member of the Rescue Rangers hopped down to admire her work. Her companions, Chip and Dale, were out investigating the odd rash of sleeping animal crimes that had plagued the city. Gadget herself was not immune to sleepy shenanigans: she was plagued by dreams.

Dreams of a technical solution.

"Gadget, Love, are you sure maybe your goggles might not be on a bit too tight?" Monterey Jack took a big bite of an olive on the end of a toothpick, holding out the garnish, then, to his trusty sidekick Zipper, a fly who was never too full to turn down another bite of food.

"Well, if my calculations are correct, the next big drowsiness should be hitting any minute. I want to make sure this antenna is up and running before then, or we may end up falling asleep like the others!" Slipping a large red toggle, the antenna sparked and came to life.

Just then, and odd wave overtook the Rangers, immediately knocking both Monterey Jack and Zipper out cold. It was like a violet gas, moving slowly, but evenly, throughout their headquarters. Gadget backed up quickly, away from the approaching cloud, nor realizing a hazy space-scape appeared on the other side of her antenna. Tripping over the bottom of the aluminum hoop of the now-Gateway, Gadget tripped, tumbling onto a tiny fragment of a rocky platform, floating in a strange void. All around her there were humans of literally every shape and size, warped into oddities and awful forms.

Before she could turn to go back through, the drowsing wave hit her invention of the other side, shorting the gateway and trapping her in this strange dimension.

"Gee willikers..." she whispered.

Suddenly, a blue glass bottle appeared next to Gadget ... although she was able to grab hold of the lip of the bottle, she could not resist being pulled in... (genie)
