Description

CHARLIE ELVEGÅRD
1943 - 2018

________________________________

In the middle of all Disney drawings and animators I suddenly was hit in the face with the fact that Charlie Elvegård died in May this year.
It came as a shock since I remember reading about him a few years ago, thinking it was incredible that he still did the voice for Rabbit after all these years.
Now, he's dead. He was only 74 years old. Why did nobody tell me? Now I'm sad and stuff...

Charlie provided the Swedish voice for Rabbit in pretty much everything you can find with Winnie the Pooh,
with the only exception being the very first cartoons (to which he did the voice in the redub instead, so he's Rabbit no matter what actually).
From the old cartoons to the newest movies to the weird puppet show, he was Rabbit. There was no one else, really.
His voice is one of the best I've ever heard and his character as Rabbit made me fall in love with the character every time.
It's thanks to Charlie that Rabbit is my favourite character. It's partially thanks to Charlie that I'm interested in voice actors.

If you're interested, here are some clips I've found in which his voice can be heard a lot:
The old cartoon, another from the same era ,  that weird puppet show (I always hated that show as young, haha!)
some short lines from one of the movies and here's from the 2011 movie, unfortunately all I could find from that movie.
It's yet unclear if he did the voice for the 2018 live action movie (which is dubbed, yes), but it doesn't seem likely since he died in May 2018.

I had to draw something. I just had to.
This was also my first time drawing Rabbit. Feels weird, but I loved it. Might do more in the future.

Thank you for being a big part of my childhood, Charlie. Vila i frid.

I never heard of this actor until I saw this.

This is still a nice picture and a nice tribute to him.

Is he a foreign voice actor for Rabbit?

I see, well RIP to him. And my personal favorite voice actor for Rabbit, Ken Sampson. Though as a kid I always thought with his and Piglet's voices, they sounded more like girls.

Funny you should say that, I also always thought that Piglet and Rabbit (and Roo) where girls when I was young

Though Roo was voiced by a girl a few times. In Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too, Welcome to Pooh Corner and Christopher Robin.

Interesting, because in Swedish he was almost always voiced by a young boy Despite this, I always saw him as a girl. But I misgendered a lot of characters when I was a child, haha.
