Description Technically, it's an ocelot, I believe, but for all intents and purposes, here, we'll call it a cat At any rate, this is the second of two sheets of motion studies I did for my animal/wildlife drawing class and was done with live footage shot from the zoo. He's jumping for a high ledge and the camera cut off the top a bit, but I just filled in from what I've gotten watching my roomie's cat

This is amazing.  (I doodled a chubby little kitty cartoon in class today when I remembered this, so it's obviously less impressive and more cutesie).  But I linked to you in the description because your work is awesome!

Sorry, if the standard view is working, there's no reason I can think of the full view wouldn't. It might be a problem in the dev server.

This motion study looks great.
From an animation point of view theres a key pose missing,
the anticipation which is either pose 1 and needs a pose before it or should be between pose 1 and 2.
Cats do a kinda small crouch down before the leap.
Try it out in flash.
Take these poses import the jpeg into flash (select) ctrl b(break) (deselect) the import then use the lasso tool to cut out each drawing make individual symbols (f8- name) of each.
then in a new layer make 8 keyframes and drag each symbol from library to stage in each blank keyframe, leaving frame 2 empty. Register the drawings so the distance looks right.Drag out the timing to make it look realistic although choppy.
Now try with the brush tool to draw a lower more squashed cat pose on frame 2.
Play.
Assuming you have flash.
Also you'll have a cool flash movie when you're done.

That would be really awesome except for the fact that I don't have Flash It's one of those things I should get, I know, I'm just lazy and do any filming at school when I get the chance But yeah, I should definately be looking into that.

As for the croutching, yeah, I was expecting that, but in this particular footage, he didn't for whatever reason or another. I went back through each frame time and time again, but he never did that real crouch. Even that first frame I fudged a little to make it seem more natural. It could be because he went almost straight from a walk, but I don't know. It may have just been too quick and subtle for the camera to capture, too. That's what's great about drawing animals, the unpredictability

Thank you very much for taking the time to critique, it's much appreciated, especially since I'm trying to put my portfolio together for submissions right now. It's nice to have the feedback.

Wonderful! Do you have any clips of animation you've done, assuming you've done some? I'd love to see some animation by you; I imagine it looks fantastic!
