Chances are, even if you've never played any of the Darkstalkers games, you've seen this character around. Hsien-Ko or Lei-Lei in the english version, seen here without that spell scroll covering her face (in case you were wondering, and even if you're not, that spell scroll is her sister).With those huge claws, it just seemed like she'd be fun to draw in chibi form. I tried yet another coloring technique on this one, not a major difference, but going in with more colors, specifically, cool tones in the shadows and warm in the highlights. I like it, I think it adds something more of that 'painterly' look I love.
Medium: Watercolor pencil with all coloring and toning done in Photoshop.

That reminds me of this game called 'Pocket Fighter'. It's a semi-puzzle game, semi-fighting game that features the street fighter and darkstalkers characters in chibi form, and Hsien-Ko is the cutest one there

You aren't going to believe me, but I've never seen this character around before. ^_^' I guess I'm just out of the loop!
Anyways, the drawing is beautiful, it's a blend of so many pastel colors, and it's just full of motion.

So the scroll is her sister and her sister perpetually covers her face, and the claws kinda dangle from her shoulders but arent actually her arms/hands but she can use them as weapons all the same...? lol, Obviously I'm not really familiar with the whole DarkStalkers thing, but I do have a friend who's obsessed with this character... and for all I studied his action figure of her, I cant understand the character design.
Anyway, that aside, this is another awesome and adorable chibi from you! Your chibis have a life all their own... so much personality goes into your work!

Well, in the games, you do see her sister in human form on occation, but yeah, kindda trippy. And as for the arms, well,, I think of it like having long poles in the sleeves that she can use to control the claws. Not that that is how it works, but that's how I justify it in my head
Actually, it is a costume I really want to make, but I want to do it right, so it may not get done for a couple years now. We'll see

I love your use of Watercolour pencil for the sketching/image outline! More original than the typical black! The colours are so smooth and pretty, and I love the character!

Great energy in this piece! For some reason, it reminds me of one of the types of enemies on Kingdom Hearts, but I am not sure why. I also like the painterly effect you have here. Nice work!
