Sorry I've been away so much lately, really busy times, but I'll be getting to my message box soon, promise
I've had this compostion floating around in my head for months now and after finally getting to see the end of the series and the movie, I just really had the need to get it out on paper (or computer as the case may be
) Someone really needs to hit me very hard if I ever even consider drawing Al in non-chibi form ever again though and yes, the text inside the circle is correct thanks to ~DarkxDelusions .Oh, and appologies about the watermark on the full view. I've tried to hold off on doing that, but as someone recently pointed me to one of my pieces that was being sold on EBay, it's just a step I had to take.
Media: As usual, lineart done with Colerase brown on vellum, scanned papyrus paper integrated into the background, painting done in Photoshop and Painter

This is very good, but Al's head looks weird, like someone shoved the headpiece of the armor down a few inches. That's the only thing wrong though.

The quality of line and softness in the color are very well done - almost like an official DVD insert or something of the sort. I love that it's true to character, but drawn and colored completely in your own style.
Question: are you allowed to sell prints of fanart even though the original characters are not your own? Because I would buy a print of this in a second.

Unfortunately, no, selling prints is not generally permitted. Within anime, there is a general understanding that it is acceptable in specific time and place such as in artist alley at conventions, but only there and only as permitted by the creators.

This is an absolutely beautiful composition! The colors are wonderful - the toned down-ness of them are a nice contrast to the usual bright and vibrant display in the anime. I also love the two circles in the the background. They're very detailed!
Ed and Al look spectacular! You did a great job with Al, and the butterfly is a nice touch. Ed looks very pensive, too. This is a beautiful piece!

they both look wonderful! I love the butterfly that Al is holding- like a little reminder that he is a human child, and Ed looks brilliant standing in the shadow of his brother all closed in, and focused on the watch -it shows they're characters off perfectly!
