Two men who underwent mutations to fight monsters. Well, one of them did. Geralt is a monster hunter who, in addition to doing the job of fighting what are essentially dangerous animals, has, for one reason or another, been crossing paths with the worst people on his planet and the worst people on someone else's planet.

Philip Wittebane's obsession with proving himself a hero by hunting witches and demons made him the real monster, going from a serial killer to a con artist to a genocidal dictator under the name Emperor Belos. All the while, his use of magic to prolong his life mutated him into something that was physically less human than any of the creatures of the demon realm and likely anything Geralt had ever met, not counting ghosts.

The Witcher has seen how people invent monsters to feel better about themselves. Belos might be the single worse case he's ever come across, seeking the complete extermination of all otherwordly life he's come across and has prolonged his life for years. In his desire to be the hero, he will kill any humans who stand in his way.

So, does anybody want to imagine Belos as a boss in a Witcher video game? He'd probably warp around the arena throwing big spells and trying to pierce/rip/cut you into pieces with his various tendrils. As you damage him, he would lose control over his human shape, and you'd see the real monster. His design would need some tweaks to fit but it could still work.
