wow, the details are so sharp it's incredible. I love the composition, great use of negative space, that's a lot of brick. I havent heard of that type of film but after seeing this I had to check it out. oh if only I had a good enough lens to shoot with that stuff. really fine shot

Don't worry about the quality of the lens. Apparently, my lens is supposed to suck wide open, yet there it is

i've never seen so much open space in chicago. i don't like stark, direct lighting/contrast but i really like this photograph. you know? no need for pretty diffused soft tonal ranges just... sharp and crisp. that's rather stupid to not like a type of lighting no matter where or how it is used. but don't worry, i'm not rather stupid.

ps. your horizon line is tilted

awesome good man, I like the feeling of the small guy/lamp against the bricks. it's like..claustrophobia. or just overpowering. i have no idea.

Nice one. I quite like how the shadow of the lamp is the same height as the person.

godhatesphysics In reply to a-douglas [2006-10-04 03:30:09 +0000 UTC]

Well, let's play a game. It's not a very good game, mind you.

I've laid out all of the steps from the taking of the photo to the image you see here. You have to guess which step created the border

Ooohh, my turn. Did you file down the edges of your neg carrier?

Such a sharp lens though. Looks very nice. The only thing I hesitate on is the leaves at top

godhatesphysics In reply to darin3200 [2006-10-04 03:56:22 +0000 UTC]

No guessing for him!

Anyways, I don't see leaves. I see a shadow.. shaaaadow
