I think the photo is good, as a start.

Buuuut, GOD, I love the focus! I like how all the small droplets are visible, but as you follow them upwards they get more blurred out! That is just really beautiful!

The depth of field is also really nice. I love the bokeh in the background and how you're still able to see the structures in the back.

One thing I'm not really fond of is the black and white editing. I think it kills parts of the photos, but I'm quiet sure that you've got a reason for doing it. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Wink)"/>

Overall a really beautiful shot. Definably a favorite of mine e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

Thank you so much, my first critique and a positive, helpful one at that. I can't really tell you why I went with b&w and colour. I would guess it's to do with my mood, my mood when I edited the photo rather than took it, funny that. Perhaps I should relook it when my mood has changed.

No problem .

Well, my guess could be that the parts that is black & white might be really colorful and draw the eyes away from the area you want people to look at

This is so amazing! The tone is breath taking...
Weird composition though ^^

By the way, mind telling me what lens you we're using?
I feel like getting anything under f/2 ^^

Hiya,

Thanks for the feedback, I was using a Canon 50mm f1.8. I bought it as it's cheaper than the 1.4 and 1.2 and gives great results regardless. But it is fixed, not necessarily a bad thing.

this has very nice detail and i love how the edges are desaturated

although, i think you could crop the top (and maybe a little bit of the bottom)... to make it kinda squarish.

Thank you.

That's a good idea. I was worried about loosing the bokeh at the top (because I like it so much), and the original is a landscape before this crop, so portrait was in my mind. But square is a great idea, I'm definitely gonna try that. Alway looking for good advice, as I'm only starting out

i know what you mean there are always times when i don't want to crop a picture because i like it too much.
i usually end up cropping it anyway xD

I love the clarity and sharpness of this photo.
Its really cool with how just the center is in colour, but the rest looks to be in black and white.

Awesome photo!

Thank you very much, =Willigenburg asked about the b&w, I think it did it like this because of my mood at the time. Photos are great that way.

Some of the greatest pieces are done because of a person's mood

I love the little bokeh towards the top. I really enjoy this pic.. of all the pics I have taken, strange really. So subjective.
