Description
This is a working portable computer based on a Raspberry Pi 3 and build into the chassis from a Commodore 64c.The pull-out display is secondary to the VGA port used with either a desktop monitor or Video glasses.
This project was inspired by my love of William Gibson's Sprawl books and Cyberpunk in general, and is my attempt to build something that is as close as possible to my personal imagining of the cyberdecks of Gibson's Sprawl and Shadowrun. A more detail description of it's creation can be found here: n-o-d-e.net/cyberdeck64.html

Hey, I just wanted to say that I was seriously impressed with this one as well as your other cyberdeck... As a matter of fact, I completely forgot what a cyberdeck was due to not having played Shadowrun for about 16 years, until I did a search for portable Raspberry Pi cases on Google, and this thing showed up. Just out of curiosity, what for paint did you use? Because I'm pretty sure they didn't make Commodore 64 cases in that color, and I kinda want to do something similar with this old, broken portable typewriter I got for $0.95 at a Goodwill Outlet store last year.
Of course, I don't know what kind of shape the original keyboard was in when you got it, but being a bit of an electronics engineer, I personally would have tried to map the key matrix & either try to use it with a standard USB keyboard encoder IC chip or used an Arduino or programmable USB keyboard/arcade interface that the DIY Mechanical Keyboard modders use for making custom keyboards to turn it into a plug & play USB keyboard (similar to the idea I have for the broken portable typewriter mentioned above).
