I'm not the type of person who'd give previews for future chapters, but I can't help it. This was the first scene I thought up when I started planning out A Nerd in Hell. Not to mention the fact that I kinda spoiled this when I started that Helsa story.

It was originally going to be more comedic, but rewatching the Addict music video, rereading Angel's prequel comic, and reading some fanfics showing Valentino as someone who’s truly despicable... Yeah, I decided that I was going to do something a lot more fun when I inevitably meet Hazbin Hotel's worst character.

Is this scene realistic? Not at all.

Did I have too much fun to care? Absolutely.

“Don’t worry, help should be coming for you soon,” Velvet whispers.

Before I could ask Velvet what she meant, the door in front of me opens up, and a very tall bug demon wearing a red coat steps out. I manage to catch the sound of Angel crying before the lanky overlord closes the door and locks it with a key.

“So sorry about having to tie you up like that,” he insincerely apologizes. “I just had to make sure you didn’t try anything stupid if you woke up while I was still disciplining Angel. I gave him everything, and yet he still chooses to run off to stay at that retarded princess’s hotel.”

He takes out a cigarette and lights it before he turns to me, giving me a sleazy, sharp-toothed smile. “But where are my manners? My name is Valentino of the 3Vs, overlord of porn, and I’d like to make a business proposition with you.”

I glare at him. I already hated Valentino before, based on what Cherri told me, but now I just loathe him. Kidnapping me, hurting Angel, insulting the sweet, kind-hearted girl who wants to make Hell a better place and was the first friend I’ve made in over a decade? All so he can make a deal with me?! I don’t like getting angry, since I can get very, very mean, but this guy?

He deserves it.

“Oh, so you’re Valentino,” I told him. “You know, going by that picture I saw of you eating a burger, I was expecting someone who made Jabba the Hutt look skinny in comparison.”

Valentino’s smile faulters slightly. “As I was saying,” he says. “I’m sure you’ve noticed how most of the demons here are quite ugly. It’s rare to find demons that’d be seen as attractive, even rarer to find one who resembles a human. But an actual human? That’s completely unheard of; and we’ll start a new genre of porn that you’d star in.”

“You’ll be immortalized with the human-demon genre and you’ll have anyone you want. Women, men, furries, trannies, doesn’t matter. I have whatever your type is, we don’t judge down here."

“Hmm. That does sound rather tempting,” I lied. “Let me think about– No.”

The sleazy smile vanishes entirely, replaced by a frown. “You seem to be mistaken; I’m not giving you a choice about working for me. Because, down here in Hell, I always get what I want.”

“Yeah, I don’t care. We don’t always get what we want. Like how right now, I want to look at someone who isn’t a douchebag that wears stupid looking sunglasses indoors,” I tell Valentino.

“If Velvet offered me a job? I’d probably say yes, since I actually like her.” I hear some cheerful clapping from the Overlord I’ve managed to befriend a few days ago. “And maybe I’d accept a job from that guy with the TV for a head; Vox, I think? I dunno what he’s like, but I know I like him more than you.”

“Umm, thanks?”

“But you? I would never work for someone as vile as you. I’ve only known you for a couple minutes, and I already despise you to the point where just looking at you sickens me.”

“You’re just saying that because you ain’t me,” Valentino says, a smug grin forming on his face. “It’s perfectly natural for someone so low to be jealous of –“

I start laughing at him; I’m not sure for how long, but by the time I managed to calm myself down, Valentino’s stopped grinning. “Me, jealous of you? I’m fucking glad that I’m nothing like you! For starters, you have the dumbest, tackiest taste in clothes. I mean, were you going for ‘If Valentine’s Day took a shit on a pimp’?”

I think I hear someone saying my name, but I’m too busy with Valentino to notice.

“From what I heard about you, you’re so toxic, that you might as well be a giant monster made out of industrial waste and actual shit.”

By now, Valentino’s gritting his teeth angrily. I hear someone calling for me again, it’s definitely Velvet, but I didn’t acknowledge her. I don’t care if I might die at the end of this, I just want the satisfaction of knowing that I pissed off the asshole standing in front of me.

“Not to mention that you look like what’d happen if a rat fucked a cockroach, and the resulting offspring was beaten with the fugly stick for five years. No wait, ten.” I snicker, “In fact, I bet that’s why Vox and Velvet hang out with you, the same reason attractive people have an ugly friend. So they can look better in comparison.”

Valentino’s face is completely red now, and I just smirk at him. He walks over to me, kneeling down so he’s at eye level.

“You know, human, the reason I brought you here was because I thought I could use you to make a fortune. Even offered you a sweet deal to make you more willing to work for me. But now?” The pimp tells me. He blows a cloud of red smoke into my face, “I’m going to break you. Mentally. Emotionally. Physically.”

He reaches over to grab my face, only to pull back when I try to bite his hand. “Oh, feisty aren’t you? I’m going to enjoy breaking you; and when you finally are broken, you’ll be starring in a snuff film. I’m going to kill you, slowly and painfully. And when you come back down here, I’m going to do it again, and again, and again, until I grow bored and leave you chained up for the extermination.”

Valentino leans in close, now just inches from my face. “Unless you can give me one reason why I should simply ignore everything you’ve said and –“

Everything seemed to stop for Vox and Velvet as they look on in shock at the sight of Valentino’s face getting smashed in after the human headbutted him.

“Should we do something to help?” Velvet asks, though the smile on her face and the fact that she hasn’t stopped recording on her phone makes it clear that she has no desire to intervene.

“Ha! And why would we do that?” Vox responds as he shoves a small handful of popcorn into his mouth. “I haven’t seen anything this entertaining since the time Stolas roasted Val on Voxtagram.”
