Lady Shear is the head of state onboard the research station turned battlestation of New Avalon. A castle of the space age. Her kind have adapted to life in space to the point that they no longer require legs. Although they can float or hover in gravity wells thanks to the air cushion created by their wings. Lady Shear is not confident on cameras or in public appearances or even talking to people. Such was caused by a sheltered life growing up in relative seclusion on the old station. Though she is only half Dweller. Her parents being a human and a dweller who gave birth to her in space ten years prior to The Shattering. Dwellers are actually better suited to give birth than normal humans as their hips have expanded in zero-g. Her mother lost most of her social credit for reproducing outside of her class and outside of their Starlight Court. More importantly their love had broken all manner of genetic patent laws. She served as a debtor soldier finding more comfort in people who were more concerned with surviving than the nest of vipers that was the Starlight Court. However upon being recalled to orbit she was entered into a fire control program. To weaponize the orbital palaces and stations against the groundmen. She would not have her father's legacy squandered as such. But she played along until she was able to wrest control of the station's systems away from those who would see it used as a weapon. Then she took it behind the moon and later to mars where it was used as a shelter for various refugees. As well as saving her younger brother and his penal battalion whose debt certificates she burned.
