Length: 3.6m
Weight: 326.5kg
Diet: Fruits, nuts, leaves, bamboo, bark, insects
Although fountopithecus are closest related to gigantopithecus, they lack their iconic facial flanges. Instead, the males have large cheek tufts. These tufts are less pronounced in females. Despite their immense strength, they often find themselves prey to shisa cats, though a pair of fountopithecus could easily beat one to death. Fountopithecus live in family troops of one to four adult males, some juvenile males, and several adult females and young, similar to gorillas. However, unlike gorillas, fountopithecus are usually tolerant of outsiders approaching their troop.
